Using the wooden spatula is a common way for potters who wish to modify their turned objects on the lathe after they have dried a bit and achieved a malleability similar to leather. The gesture is relatively easy, you have to gently tap a leather-textured pot with the spatula to give it the desired shape.

In addition to shaping, working with a spatula alow the clay to be compressed on the surface of the pot, which adds strength and stability to the piece.

Two types of finish are available for the spatulas: rounded corners or bevelled corners. The rounded corners allow less marking on the clay during shaping, while bevelled corners allow the clay to be textured as needed. Each spatula has a small hole so you can hang it on the wall. Finally, all the spatulas are carefully sanded in order to obtain a flat and smooth surface.
